I’m ready to see some sun! For Charleston, it has been extraordinarily overcast for the last few days. It’s 59 degrees today and a little rainy. However, my negative feelings about the weather were quickly corrected when my son reminded me that God makes these kinds of days so that plants and flowers can grow and so that we can have lots of water (unlike our relatives in the upstate of South Carolina). Sometimes it takes a child’s perspective to change our attitudes!!
I got to spend the morning with my five-year old (Colin) today and had a blast! He did a fantastic job at his swimming lesson — I was so proud of him. He can swim lengths of the pool and is now working on good form and technique. It has been amazing to see how far he has progressed in just one short year. He has the most spectacular teacher. If any of you are thinking of swimming lessons for your little ones, call Cheryl McCarthy at 843-442-3373. After swimming, we got a Butterfinger milkshake and went to Target (Colin’s favorite store). I had lunch with a special client at Long Point Grill and didn’t make it in to work until 1:30!! It was well worth it.
At the end of the month, I send housing statistics for Daniel Island to my clients who have properties listed with me. It’s always a time to reflect and to see if there is anything that I can do to better serve these fabulous friends and neighbors who have trusted me to help them sell. I fully anticipate that 2009 will be a year of recovery in the national housing market and that we should reach a sustaining level sometime in 2010. In the meantime, we all have to be optimistic and trust that things will get better. Most people realize that the current environment provides a unprecedented opportunity for buyers! Interest rates are so low and prices are so attractive that it just makes sense to buy right now.
Chad has started playing basketball with our church league so the boys and I are going to our first game tonight! They are very excited to go and cheer for their daddy. Seems like it is going to be a late night — I’d better figure out what I’m cooking for dinner 🙂
