Four Simple Steps to Finding Your Dream Home

Daniel Island Kitchen

STEP ONE – INITIAL CONSULTATION

Like any good team, it’s important to develop a solid strategy from the get-go. The first step in the process is to meet in person (or by phone, depending on your preference) before seeing any properties. We will discuss your needs, wants, budget, and timeline. We will also spend some time getting to know your unique situation. What leisure activities are important to you? What is your commute to work like? In this meeting, we will identify everything that is important to you and establish a plan to find your perfect home.

“From their extensive knowledge of the community and the market, to their close contacts with anyone and everyone that you will need to know in going through the tedious process, to their most pleasant personalities and very responsive communications, they are unmatched in our opinion!”

— Mike & Kristina Baxley

STEP TWO – COMMUNITY AND HOME TOURS

Finding you a home is the easy part! Determining the best community takes more time and effort. Our team of experts is well-versed in the lifestyles offered in the different communities around Charleston and will help you every step of the way.

Showings involve far more than opening the door and letting you take a look around. We analyze each aspect of the property and determine how it would function in your particular situation. This is a big decision—and the last thing we want you to feel is rushed during this very important step of the process. There is never any pressure to buy. In fact, we have worked with some of our clients for over ten years before they decided to purchase!

“It was so helpful to understand the neighborhood and communities before settling on a home. Coming from out of town, we were not well-versed on the different areas of Charleston. Our agent helped us to determine what was important to us and then introduced us to areas that helped us accomplish our goals.”

— Chris and Allie Edwards

STEP THREE – NARROW AND NEGOTIATE

From here, we narrow the list and decide which home to pursue. Our agents are all trained negotiators and have excellent relationships in the Charleston REALTOR® community. We pride ourselves in working tirelessly to secure the best possible price and terms for our clients and on providing candid advice during the negotiation process.

There is a lot that goes into purchasing a home beyond just agreeing to terms. Our transaction manager coordinates every step of the closing process and clearly outlines everything that we need to get the job done swiftly and accurately. During this time our team is working behind the scenes with the banks, attorneys, insurance companies, appraisers, inspectors and cooperating agents to ensure that all the details are taken care of. We also track down and distribute HOA documents, surveys, elevation certificates, insurance information and other items necessary for closing ahead of time so that there are no surprises on closing day!

“We have worked with many real estate people/groups. If you took all of their best qualities and put them together, Island Park Properties’ team would still far surpass them in comparison. Best team of professionals we have ever worked with!”

— Will & Shona Lewis

STEP FOUR – CELEBRATE AND ENJOY YOUR NEW HOME

Our commitment to you doesn’t end with a closing. It’s our hope that we will continue to be a resource for you as you settle into your new home and beyond. Call us. Text us. Stop in and say hello—and we’ll do the same. Let us help you acclimate to your new community. Whether we’re providing a recommendation for a hair stylist, introducing you to your new neighbors, or connecting you with a potential job prospect, it’s our belief that our relationship is just beginning with the purchase of your new home.

“When our agent told us that our relationship didn’t end at closing, she wasn’t kidding! We relied on her for recommendations for everything including a new doctor, preschools, and hair stylists. We not only had a great agent, we made a lifelong friend. Our agent was a great resource as we transitioned into the next step of our lives.

— Peter and Mary McAllen
