20 Spring Cleaning Tips

Spring has arrived which means it’s time to get your home in tip-top shape! After a long, and very snowy, winter in Charleston, there’s no better time to hit refresh on your home. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite tips, along with a downloadable checklist, to help you easily conquer your spring cleaning!

Make a Schedule

It can be daunting trying to tackle your entire house in a day. Instead, tackle a different room each day or tackle those that require the most of your attention first like garages, closets, and junk drawers.

De-Clutter

Spring cleaning is the perfect occasion for paring down the items in your home. As you move from each room, have three boxes set out, one for donations, items you can sell, and one for throwing old items away.

Walls and Windows Need Love To!

We know to clean our floors but we also need to give some attention to our walls and windows as well. Most dust settles on the floor but can also settle on walls and blinds. Take a damp rag and wipe down your walls and blinds by starting at the top. On the outside, remove and wipe window screens and shutters, and use a squeegee to thoroughly clean exterior windows. That way your home shines all the time!

Air Filters

Replace your air filters and HVAC filters when you spring clean. This ensures that you’re only breathing clean, healthy air rather than dust.
