7 Restaurants Locals Love on Daniel Island

It’s dinner time but the last thing you want to do is cook. Thankfully there are many wonderful restaurants on Daniel Island, all a quick golf cart ride away! Today, we’ve rounded up some of our favorites on the island that have been lifesavers for those busy evenings or lazy weekend days when cooking just isn’t an option.

Ristorante Lidi

Inspired by the simple, authentic Italian dishes, Ristorante Lidi captures the true feeling of Italy. By using fresh ingredients, sourced from local and regional farms, each bite you take at Ristorante Lidi will be full of flavor! Locals love to go to Ristorante Lidi for meals with family and friends by sharing their family style portions, or for a simple cocktail and dessert for a date night. Whichever dish you choose at Ristorante Lidi, you can’t go wrong!

Laura Alberts Tasteful Options

Established in 2002 by mother-daughter team, Karen Elsey and Laura Leppert, Laura Alberts is where all the locals go for wine, beer, gifts, and of course, a good meal! Laura Alberts is nestled in the heart of downtown Daniel Island and features two quaint dining rooms, bar, private cellar, and a courtyard to enjoy a delightful glass of wine. At Laura Alberts you can dine on the best Southern cuisine where each ingredient is sourced locally. Laura Alberts also offers dinners to go for those in a rush to get home!

Orlando’s Brick Oven Pizza

Grab your own little slice of heaven at Orlando’s! Orlando’s is where every local goes to get their fix of authentic New York-style pizza. They may not deliver but that’s ok! Stop in or call in your order but while you wait, take a while down to the closet park or walk around downtown Daniel Island. This pizzeria offers favorites like pizza, meatball subs, calzones, and pasta.

Wasabi

If you’re wondering where the locals go for lunch on the island, look no further than Wasabi! Wasabi is typically packed during lunch, so be sure to call in your order to go during the week. Wasabi offers traditional hibachi and thai meals but their specialty is their delicious sushi! Stop in with friends for happy hour and dine on hand rolled sushi and sip on extremely tasty cocktails.

Vespa

When in doubt, pizza is always a great option! Vespa Pizzeria offers more than your standard pizza, you can dine on some seriously fantastic fried risotto balls, mussels that have been cooked in white wine and garlic, or a fresh caprese salad. Their wood fire pizzas aren’t to be missed and you can find many families dining in or carrying out any day of the week. And make sure you eat a slice of their heavenly tiramisu before you leave too.

Sermet’s Courtyard

A personal favorite of our team, you can never go wrong with dining at Sermet’s Courtyard! Only one block away from the waterfront park, Sermet’s offers delicious Mediterranean cuisine alongside a wonderful wine menu, all which can be enjoyed while listening to live music. Only open for dinner service, Sermet’s is the ideal place to go whether you’re enjoying happy hour with friends or co-workers, dinner with family, or simply to enjoy a quiet glass of wine in their courtyard while the sun sets. You can’t go wrong with Sermet’s! It’ll be difficult to not take a stroll down to the water after dinner to enjoy the quiet serenity that Daniel Island offers.

Ali Baba Deli

If you’re in need of a healthy lunch alternative, Ali Baba Deli is an excellent place to go! This Mediterranean eatery excels in crafting the perfect lamb gyros, beef shawerma, or kebabs. They offer delicious sandwiches, pizzas, wraps, hummus, and sampler platters where you can pick and choose from their extensive cooler. We love their avocado quinoa salad, stuffed grape leaves, and of course their gyro!
