Daniel Island is certainly growing, there’s no denying that! We love seeing how much our beloved island has changed over the last 15 years and the new, exciting business that have made our home an even better place. This news is no exception!
The long awaited arrival of the new Central Island Square is finally coming to completion! Opening late-fall, the Central Island Square will be opening up the eagerly anticipated Starbucks around Thanksgiving and Bin 526 will be opening up in November as well! The new Starbucks is equipped with a 12-car drive-thru lane that is perfect for those mid-afternoon slumps when only a Pumpkin Spice Latte will do!
If you’re wine lovers like us, you’ll be excited to hear that the new Bin 526 will feature an extremely large selection of both wine, beer, and liquor and will be housed inside the spacious 3,000 sq.ft. building. It’ll be Daniel Island’s best wine cellar! Customers can enjoy a beer or glass of wine on their large outdoor patio with friends that’s ideal for entertaining. They’ll also be offering wine tastings in-store as well!
The gorgeous Central Island Square apartments are close to completion and are currently accepting rental agreements. The urban-living, shopping, and dining square will feature 1-bedroom to 3-bedroom floor plans with top-tier amenities. Residents can enjoy a fitness center, resort-style saltwater pool deck with a grilling pavilion and exterior televisions, a large dog park with grooming station, media and game room, luxury clubhouse with demonstration kitchen, business center, and a full guest suite for out-of-town visitors. Venture downstairs where you’ll find shops and restaurants in the spacious 30,000 sqft commercial retail space. A short walk across the street is the Publix shopping center making downtown Daniel Island living extremely convenient.
Speaking of Publix, it’s looking to expand it’s building to twice it’s original size to help accommodate the growing island! Publix is asking the city of Charleston’s Design Review Board to approve the major addition and renovation. As of the October 16th meeting, the plans have been unanimously deferred until another time in 2018.
The remaining businesses are slated to open in the next 90-100 days so by spring, we’ll have even more shops opening up in the Central Island Square, most notably, New York Butcher Shoppe!
