A new pool on Daniel Island?!
You’ve probably heard by now that Daniel Island is getting a new amenity center in Edgefield Park, but have you heard how cool it’s going to be? It’s going to be your new favorite summer hangout spot once it’s finished and it will add a third pool option for residents on the south end of the island. Here are the 5 best things about this new amenity on Daniel Island.
- Beach Entry – Why mess with the sandy toes and possible sea creatures at the beach, when you can enjoy the gradual descent into a crystal clear water on a hot summer day? The best part is that the smallest of babies can still play in the water and can stay in the super-shallow area. I loved this when my boys were little!
- Olympic-Sized with three 25 meter lap lanes – Want to flex your muscles and increase your endurance but don’t want to get too hot? Try a watery workout and swim a few laps in this Olympic-sized pool. You’ll feel better AND escape gravity for a little while. Check out this great swimming workout!
- Water Feature – We’re not sure what this could look like, but we’re pretty sure it’s going to feel like we have our very own water park right here on the island. Kids of all ages will enjoy cooling off under this fun addition.
- New Venue option for picnics and events – The Crow’s Nest will be the perfect spot to host a kid’s birthday party or summer soirée. Similar to the Pierce Park Pavilion, it will have a catering kitchen, restrooms, and picnic tables. But to make it a unique venue, it will also feature a second story screened in porch where you can enjoy a delicious coastal breeze and catch those amazing Carolina sunsets over the marshes of the Cooper River.
- Around the Corner! – Located at the corner of Oak Leaf Street and Willtown Street, this new pool on Daniel Island will only be a bike ride away.
So get your towels and pool noodles ready – The Crow’s Nest and Pool is expected to be completed in the early fall of 2016.
