Although I have been to the island several times over the past seventeen years, this was the first time I could see the vision as reality! Street signs are installed, granite crosswalks grace the roads, and ponds, parks and homesites are now easily recognizable. Throughout my fifteen years at Daniel Island Real Estate, Rhoden Island was always discussed with a touch of reverence and often referred to as “the last and best area” to be developed in our island town.
Now rebranded as “Captain’s Island”, the developer has remained true to the vision of creating a very special, extremely private enclave of homesites – a “waterfront settlement” of sorts. Listed by Daniel Island Real Estate, these homesites are located on a 100-acre island within the country club neighborhood of Daniel Island Park and are surrounded by Ralston Creek, the Wando River and the picturesque marshes of the Lowcountry. Amenities include a kayak launch and a future gathering space on the river side of the island – both of which are exclusive to residents of Captain’s Island.
The homesites will be listed for sale in the coming days with contracts due by the end of October. As is the practice with other homesite releases, if there are multiple contracts on any property, a drawing will be conducted to determine who will purchase each site.
