One of my favorite things about Daniel Island community sports is the fact that all of our practices and games are right here on Daniel Island! The city of Charleston has a recreation department office right here on the island which makes signing up for teams super-convenient. As the kids get older, they might travel a little around Charleston depending on the sport they play but, for the littles, it is the best thing ever!
Last Saturday was our youngest son’s first baseball game this spring. There’s not much cuter than a 5/6 year old team! Since our older two boys play baseball competitively, it was really fun to sit back, relax, and watch these cuties learn the game of baseball. The weather was perfect on Saturday morning and the boys played like champs!
To add to the fun, we lucked out with the best coaches ever! Coach Eric coached his older son’s baseball team to the Little League World Series and is determined that our boys learn real baseball and develop good habits at an early age. Coach Allie played collegiate softball and follows the same philosophy. They’re both very encouraging and are great at teaching the boys the fundamentals. It will be fun to see this team develop over the years! From what we can tell so far, this team rocks.
Here are some photos from Saturday’s game. So much cuteness!
