When you’re about to list your home on the market, there are many things that probably come to mind. Finally getting around to finishing that “honey-do” list of repairs and cleaning up the overwhelming pile in the garage are probably the things you think of first. While those items needs to be done (and are really important!) there is one other step that often gets skipped. This step if staging.
For those of you unsure of this design term, “staging” is a process where an interior designer comes in and offers advice on how to best present your property so that it grabs the Buyers’ attention. They may help you rearrange furniture or de-clutter personal items. Designers are also up to date on all of the latest trends that your Buyers will be programmed to look for in a house (thanks to HGTV and DIY networks.) Staging your home is an important key to helping Buyers see the potential and can help get you a better offer.
So what are the latest design trends, you may ask? Our friends over at Embellish Interiors (the lovely ladies pictured above) gave us 5 things they see trending in 2015.
